Busy Busy Bees

Life is picking up here in our sunny town. The weather is staying above zero and everything is turning into a mud pit as a result. M's parents were just here for a visit, it was..... good. I was so tired the whole time, but it was nice to have them here. We ate lots of good food, I have to admit that I like showing off a bit when people are over. I don't think I'm a great cook, but I like making good things and just having a comfy time with people. Now they are on their way to Tim and Arias house in P.G., did I mention that they were just in Texas last week. Oh man, they're just crazy. But apparently Texas was colder than here, yipee!
We went to Ed a couple weeks ago to hang out with Travis, Laura, and Amy. It was so much fun, went to the water park for the first time and did lots of shopping. I was also tired that weekend, seems this pregnancy thing is hard work sometimes! It dumped snow while we were there, our poor car was buried. We drove around in the 'Burb' all weekend and had some pretty good laughs and possibly got lost a few time, stupid city!
The weekend after that we went to P.G. for Tim's birthday. Pretty sure the theme of this month is "Good Food". This weekend was the climax of that. Aria made a cheesecake, oh it was incredible. We made Samosas, fried chicken, really good veggie dip, uhhh yea a bunch of other random things. The next morning the guys made steak, eggs, prawns, waffles, the works. It was just wow, so amazing. Matthew had apparently never eaten prawns before and thought it was a good idea to eat the wee little legs and shell ,yuck! It's no wonder he doesn't like the things!
Next weekend (April 8th ish) we're going to Oregon for about 10 days! I'm determined to just drive straight down there, but the H's think this is a crazy idea. Obviously they don't know how us M's travel! Get in the car, go and only stop if you can pee, gas and food up at the same place, and you better get back in the car in 10 minutes or else! And you only stop once every 7 or 8 hours, depending on how good your car is on gas. I love it. But for some reasons these H's like rest stops. I can't figure out if it's the free coffee (which I mean lets be honest, definitely isn't worth the stop) or if they're just tired and bored. Anyhoo, I'm so excited to see my nieces. I have three nieces that live down there, Rosemarie (flowergirl) Judy, and Clara. I miss seeing them all the time, it's so hard to be so far away from so many people that you love so much. SO so so. On the way home we're hoping to stop at my grandparents house and it works out nice that my parents will be there too.
So that's our future travel plans. We've (and by we I mean M) been busy getting our house stuff going. Our holes are dug and now we're getting footings and all that fun stuff. It's so hard to believe that this is actually our house. Walking around our muddy dirt hole just feels so surreal, I mean you can see why. How often do you get to call a hole your very own. And you should see the piles of dirt in our back yard! It reminds me of being a kid and sliding down them, and playing with Ryans Tonka trucks. Those were good times. I wore rubber boots to our hole yesterday and got to squish around as much as I wanted. Oh man, I'll always be a kid at heart.
Speaking of kids, ours is pretty cute. It gets hiccups a lot. Sometimes it moves so much I think an arm will pop outta my belly button. I keep promising to post a picture, but I forgot to bring any pictures with me to this computer, so just be patient. I love you all and will write again soon. Ciao!

34 Preggos in my life

Did I mention that I knew 34 people who were pregnant? My numbers have started going down because people are popping them out left right and center now. Onn of which was Drea (cousin) who had a little boy on the 6th, one day before Felicia's birthday:-) His name is Joel. He's a cutie patutie.
Ryan, how do I change the things that show on the side of my blog? I don't want the first thing that says "about" and I would like to have a " blogs I like" think like you have. Help!
It's seniors day at the bank, that means I get to talk to lots of old people about the weather, it's fun. I love them! When M talks to the baby it kicks him in the face, so cute! Talk to you later gators, that's all for today!

We got a hole!!!

Yup that's right, yesterday the digger came to make a hole for our house, yipee! I know it's been a very long time since I've blogged, but since no one actually reads it it really doesn't matter right? So this isn't a long awaited update really.
So our most exciting news is definitely the start of our new house. We got two lots here in town and will sell one and live in the other one. My dad will come up off and on during the summer to help M with the building. It was so exciting choosing the plan and yea I'll admit a bit stressful. Now we're just making sure everything is lined up and choosing floors, cabinets etc. It's so fun to dream. It's just amazing that it's slowly coming to life. So many times lately I just stop and say thank you to God. I'm just blown away at how he blesses us. I can't believe how loved I feel, He shows me in so many ways how much I'm loved. I can't even begin to grasp it!
Other exciting news is our cute little baby. We can't wait to meet him/her. It's kicking and just makes us laugh. It gets hiccups a lot which is kinda annoying sometimes. We met our doctor that will be doing the delivery. So far we're both really impressed, he was so nice. He said the baby is a good size and already getting into position. I hope that doesn't mean that it's head will be in my pelvis for so long that I give birth to a cone head. I will post some pictures of my belly as soon as I figure out how the heck to do that.
Our quaint little town is getting warmer and muddier by the day. I wouldn't be surprised if we get one more snow before this winter is done, but hey that's life in the tundra right? K, I gotta go I'm working! Stay tuned for pictures and more baby adventures, yipeee!

The toe incident

Ok, so I actually have something interesting to share and it has a lot to do with living in a small town. Last night dear sweet hubbie played soccer and since it was a late game I opted out and tried to go to bed on time. Just as I was snuggling down and had dealt with numerous distractions (dripping faucet, too much light, you know the type) there comes a wee knock on my front door. I of course ignored it but hence the knocking commenced this time accompanied by a friend yelling my name. So in she came to my dark and snuggly room and announced "M broke his toe playing soccer, wahhh!!!" Ok maybe I just added the wahh. So I put on some clothes hopped in my car and off I was so save my prince.
Now normally breaking your toe isn't such a big deal. You go to the hospital they fix you, you hobble a bit, and it's all good. But when you live near the silly city we live by things like this become very complex. Let me tell you, if you ever want a profession in anything medical related, you'd get one in an instant here. They so badly need doctors and X-Ray techs and you name it. So I met him there at about 11:00 (he'd been there an hour already). At first it was ok, he had an advil from the game, we bought some food we were happy. Then that advil wore off, the hours ticked by, the babies kept crying, the drunks kept coming in and making noise, and it went on like this until 5:30 am!!! We finally got into a wee little area with a bed, and waiting about another hour until the doc came. He poked around while M tried to forget swear words he'd learned as a young tot on the school yard. The smart 'ol doc decided to clean 'em up wait until 8:00 when X-Ray opened and then see what happened. Did I mention that when he broke his toe the bone just kinda popped right through his skin!!??! When I heard this my wave of nausea I was already fighting increased and stayed all night. That was just bonus. Anyhoo, I went home at 5:30 to catch a couple hours of sleep before I had to work.
Now here I sit, falling asleep at my desk, to tired to care that it's the busiest day we've had in weeks and everything that could go wrong is. I still like people, that's a good sign. It's when I get grumpy with strangers that I've gone too far. I'm still nauseous, which is frustrating 'cause I thought I was over that stage. M got home at about 10:30 (more than 12 hours at the stupid hospital!!) and he's hobbling now. I missed him, it's terribly sappy. So that's our adventure for today.
In other news, we told our church about the baby, it was exciting. I'm glad we told everyone, it makes it less stressful trying to keep it a secret. There's always such amazing things developing in the baby, I could go on about it forever. Some books say different things about the size. One book said the baby is about the size of a lemon this week (11 weeks) but I think I'd be showing if it was that big. Maybe it's a little lime. On the 16th I have another appointment and get to hear the heart beat, yipeee! I can't wait!
Happy December, have a super day and pray for me 'cause I'm sick and seriously fighting off sleeping on my desk right now.

My first

This is a season of firsts in my life. First blog, first time I've entered a hockey pool, first real job I've held for more than 6 months, and first kid. Yea I guess that last one is the most exciting, and will be the theme of my notes for the next while. In fact I'm also knitting my first sweater because of having my first child. It turned out to be a bit big, so it won't be worn in the first year.
Anyhoo, I'm blabbing. I had a doctors appointment yesterday. It went good, everything looks fine. We're nine weeks and that means that the little heart is beating away like crazy. The lungs and brain and liver 'n all that is functioning. Eye lids, finger nails, and the ears are being formed. In another couple of weeks the baby will hear us! It's all so amazing. There's a couple of sites I visit a lot to see what the baby's doing. www.babyfit.com and www.babycenter.com are both really good. We're planning on telling everyone at school right before Christmas break. I thought I'd want to tell everyone right away, but I like having it be our own right now. The fam knows and close friends obviously, and that's fun. It feels more real every person we tell. But I'm still leary on telling work people, don't know why, but they can just wait. I can't wait 'till our next appointment we get to hear the heart beat! How amazing!
In other news we're getting really excited about a house. We talked about either buying an older one and fixing it up, or buying a lot in town and building. Building makes me all jittery and happy. I would die if we were able to, I really need to start saving!!! And selling! I've been really lazy with Mary Kay the past few weeks, but now I'm motivated to get going.
Anyways, I'm at work, don't know how to save this and have to go. So you all have a lovely day and I promise I'll try to be more interesting in the future. Oh and I decorated our house for Christmas already and I LOVE IT!!!! MERRY ALMOST CHRISTMAS!
